An extremely rare antoninianus of Gallienus

Gallienus, 253-268. Antoninianus (Billon, 24 mm, 3.87 g, 1 h), Rome, 260-261. GALLIENVS AVG Draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to left, wearing radiate and crested helmet and holding spear and shield. Rev. VICTORIA AVG III Victory advancing left, holding wreath in her right hand and palm frond in her left; in field to left, V. MIR -, cf. 358q (T in left field). RIC -, cf. 305 (T in left field). An apparently unpublished variety of an extremely rare issue. A splendid coin, boldly struck on a full flan and with a particularly impressive bust type. Slightly porous, otherwise, good very fine.

This impressive issue likely celebrates the overthrow of Regalian's revolt by Gallienus in 260
